Let's Go Hiking: Redwood Regional Park Ladybug Hike

The Ladybugs are out in the thousands in Redwood Regional! Enact some self-care and meet EB CAMFT members by joining us on a Ladybug hike!!

• The meet up time will be 9:30am and the hike will begin at 9:45am.

Stream Trail (In and Out hike)
Estimated distance: 2 miles out, 2 miles back
(The Lady Bugs are 1.5 miles out, 1.5 mile back.)
Allow for 20 minutes/mile.

Parking: Free
Dogs: Allowed, however the Lady Bugs can flow like rivers across the trail, so… trained dogs.

Location & Access

• Address/Directions: Enter Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park via the Redwood Gate at 7867 Redwood Road, Oakland, turning left and following the road to the final lot for Canyon Meadow.
• From Hwy 13: Take the Redwood Road exit and head east (uphill) for about 2.25 miles.

Parking Details

• Fee: A $5 fee is collected seasonally (weekends & major holidays, April-October) at the Redwood Gate kiosk.
• Availability: It's a popular area, so parking can be limited; arrive early, especially on weekends.
• Safety: The paid lots (Canyon Meadow, Roberts) are considered safer than free street parking spots along Redwood Road/Skyline Blvd, where break-ins are frequent.
• Facilities: The area provides restrooms, picnic tables, and a water faucet.

Tips

• Overflow lots are available further down the road.
